The Alpine Club of Williamsport, incorporated as a Pennsylvania non-profit organization in 1988, is dedicated to promoting regularly scheduled hiking activities, encouraging an appreciation of nature, and ensuring the maintenance of the Loyalsock Trail, the Link Trail, and the Old Loggers Path.Membership RequirementsAge & Fee Restrictions: Membership is divided into Individual and Household categories. Individual applicants, or at least one member of an applying household, must be 18 years of age or older and pay the designated membership fee. A household membership extends to all individuals residing together in the same home.Outing Supervision for Minors: Any individual under the age of 18 who wishes to attend a club outing must be accompanied by an adult who assumes full responsibility for the minor.Liability Protocols: In transit to and from functions, carpooling is entirely voluntary, and members or guests retain the right to refuse transport. The corporation, its officers, and its members assume no liability for any accidents or injuries that may occur during transit.Membership BenefitsGovernance and Voice: Adult members in good standing are entitled to full democratic privileges within the organization, which includes holding one vote on club matters, the right to hold elective office, and the eligibility to serve on standing committees or specialized subcommittees.Educational & Welcome Resources: Upon onboarding, new members are provided with digital copies of the official club By-Laws and the current seasonal hike schedule coordinated by the Hikemaster.Lifetime Affiliation: Dues are currently structured as a one-time payment of $20.00, granting members a lifetime membership with no recurring annual invoices.
