The members of the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge are coming together to support one of our own — Jennie Joyce, our dedicated Loyal Knight, as she courageously battles cancer. Jennie has spent countless hours supporting this Lodge, our members, our veterans, and our community. Now it’s our turn to support her. To help raise funds for Jennie and her family during this fight, Ken Vaden, Exalted Ruler of the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge #2268, and David Sage, District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, have agreed to put their hair on the line for the cause! Here’s the challenge:If the Lodge can raise more than $2,000, Ken and David will shave their heads completely bald during the Steak Night Fundraiser on June 6, 2025.That’s right — every dollar gets us one step closer to seeing our Exalted Ruler trade in their hairstyles for a shiny new look, all while helping a fellow Elk who truly needs our support. But beyond the laughs and the clippers, this effort is about something much bigger. It’s about what Elks do best — standing beside our members and families during difficult times. Cancer affects not just the individual, but everyone around them, and we want Jennie to know she is not facing this battle alone. All proceeds will go directly toward helping Jennie with expenses and support during her treatment and recovery. So dig deep, spread the word, and let’s show what the Virginia Beach Elks Lodge is all about. Whether you donate $5 or $500, every contribution matters. Let’s hit the goal. Let’s shave the head. And most importantly — let’s support Jennie Joyce in her fight. Elks Care. Elks Share. UPDATE-David Sage, PER of Virginia Beach Elks and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for Southeast Virginia has joined the crusade! Two for the price of one! Both of us will go under the razor and shave our heads if the goal is met! Donate today for this worthy cause!
