CENTER FOR SONIC AND PSYCHOSPIRITUAL RESEARCH

The Center for Sonic and Psychospiritual Research promotes the Taubman technique to prevent and heal repetitive motion disorders in musicians, ensuring they can continue their passion without injury. They provide scholarships and support for educational initiatives.

Drummer and composer D.Treut&#39;s band GATES got its name when bassist Gene Perla, after the last note of their first gig, told him &quot;Call me &#39;Gates.&#39;&quot; D.Treut then brought in saxophonist Dan Blake and guitarist Elias Meister to play a book of music drawn from Perla&#39;s long career. Perla has played with Miles Davis, Elvin Jones, Nina Simone and Sonny Rollins; Blake has worked with Esperanza Spalding and Anthony Braxton; and Meister, a founding member of NUM, has played with George Garzone and Ben Street. The Tavern is a stop on their &quot;The Foliage is Great this Time of Year&quot; tour. Sharing the bill is Bram Kincheloe&#39;s Adventure Music Group: Bram Kincheloe on drums with Adam Siegel on alto saxophone, Will McEvoy on bass and guitarist Jesse Lewis. All ticket sales go directly to the artists performing, any additional donation made while purchasing a ticket goes towards The Center for Sonic and Psychospiritual Research to continue programming, and enhance The Tavern recording setup

D Treut's GATES + Bram Kincheloe Adventure Music Group

Join us for an evening with bassist Michael Bisio, gayageum artist DoYeon Kim, and guitarist Kenny Wessel as they explore sound, space, and attention through improvised music. This event supports the work of the Center for Sonic and Psychospiritual Research, a 501(c)(3) based at The Tavern in the Hudson Valley, where artists investigate how listening shapes inner and shared experience.

Support programming and building rehab at The Tavern

The official kick-off of our fundraiser for The Tavern&#39;s 2027 season. Asanabenche plays, Matt Igoe is cooking a brisket, available by donation, and Darich will be there too. The $20 suggested donation goes to the band. If you can, add a donation for The Tavern on top when you get your ticket: it supports continued programming, a guaranteed fee for performing artists, and a stronger recording setup in the dance hall.

In Motion is drummer Phil Haynes&#39;s new project: a book of standard tunes played without their themes, with the band improvising on the changes alone. After workshopping the book at The Tavern this fall, Haynes built the project around a quartet he calls &quot;post-Konitz&quot;: Adam Siegel&#39;s alto saxophone teamed with Peyton Pleninger&#39;s tenor, over Radam Schwartz&#39;s organ, for a more vertical, harmonic exploration of the songs
