LXCL:Costumers of Color, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that benefits the public by awarding scholarships, creating educational historical events, and leading public history trips for&nbsp;people of all races who value fairness &amp; truth.&nbsp; We are building a multicultural community of&nbsp;belonging&nbsp;in public history &amp; historical costuming. We believe that by studying the beauty and complexity of the past with honesty and respect, we can build a more unified and inclusive future.

This ticket is for the 18th-Century Historical Symposium session from 10am-2pm only. The 18th-Century Historical Symposium (period clothing optional) will begin at 10am with a morning of classes and lectures on 18th-century games, sword fighting, fashion, and a keynote address by Cheyney McKnight of @notyourmommashistory. Refreshments will be provided from 12pm to 12:30pm. The 18th-Century Symposium will end at 2pm. The event will be comprised of two sessions; the Symposium 10am-2pm and the Salon 6pm-11pm. The 18th-Century Historical Symposium&nbsp;(period clothing optional) will begin at 10am with a morning of classes and lectures on 18th-century games, sword fighting, dancing, daily life, and fashion. A lunch will be available from 12pm to 1pm. The 18th-Century Symposium will end at 2pm. The 18th-Century Rococo Salon (1760-1799 period clothing required) will open at 6pm for a cocktail hour, followed by historical dancing, historical games, and socializing in the Drawing Room and Ballroom. Step into a city of silk and shadow, where a mix of African, French, Spanish, and Caribbean influences created the unique Creole culture of 18th-century Louisiana (1701-1800). Join us for a week of historical costuming in the Crescent City complete with museum visits, private tours, costumed dinners, and unforgettable company.This journey explores how women and people of color shaped the city&rsquo;s historical fashion, from fabrics and silhouettes to hair and accessories.
