I Have The Control, Over! is an aviation-themed fashion show fundraiser hosted by Defenna Foundation to raise awareness and support for victims and survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. The title is inspired by aviation language. In the cockpit, when one pilot takes control of the aircraft, they say, &ldquo;I have the control.&rdquo; For this event, that phrase becomes a powerful survivor-centered message: we are taking control back. Through fashion, storytelling, community, and purpose, this event represents the journey from fear to freedom, from silence to strength, and from survival to empowerment. Each runway moment will symbolize boarding a new flight, leaving behind the weight of the past, and moving toward a new destination of healing, dignity, safety, and control. This fundraiser will support Defenna Foundation&rsquo;s mission to build safer pathways for victims, survivors, students, and community members by connecting them to trusted resources, prevention education, advocacy, community support, and technology-based tools. The evening will also include the soft launch of the Defenna app, a safety and resource connection platform created to help users find trusted nonprofits, services, professionals, and community resources in one place. Our goal is to make it easier and faster for people to access support when they need it most, so no one feels lost, overwhelmed, or alone when searching for help.
