The Emerald Society is charged with supporting the MN Pipes and Drums - Law Enforcement Auxillary, who play free of charge at any Officer’s funeral who is killed in the line of duty in the state of Minnesota, regardless of membership.We pride ourselves in being the largest charitable Law Enforcement organization in the state and salute our member's charity with several social events throughout the year. The Emerald Society offers several membership options, and EVERYONE is welcome to join; including friends, family, and supporters of Irish and Police causes.

Our annual dues pay for the “day to day” of conducting charitable business (ie, fees, printing costs, etc.) We take great care to separate these dues from our charitable donations, so all money raised and donated goes directly to our selected causes. In 2024, we are asking for an “annual appeal,” in addition to our annual dues. If you wish to contribute above your base dues, that money will go to support that specific cause. The following are several examples of what you can choose to support;Emerald (memorial) Fund: Flowers and sympathy cards for member funerals.Heritage Fund: Direct support of our cause to provide a bagpipe band for LODD.Forever Remembered Fund: Gift Card support for MN Law Enforcement, and their families in need.General Donation: Used for charitable causes the board has determined needs to be met.Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Fitzgerald "Fitz" Memorial Scholarship Fund ~ all monies donated to this fund will be added to the Emerald Society's annual donation to the Center for Irish Music's Fitz Memorial Scholarship. Timothy "Fitz" Fitzgerald was involved with the early formation of our Emerald Society of Minnesota. While having a beverage at the Dubliner in St. Paul, Fitz overheard our Founding President, Jack Davy, talking about the newly formed Emerald Society. Discussion led to talks of a pipe band and with Fitz's musical connections, the rest is history. Fitz was very involved behind the scenes in the Irish Community and with our Emerald Society.Fitz sadly passed away on March 3rd, 2010. The Center for Itish Music set up the Fitz Memorial Scholarship shortly after his passing. We honor Fitz's memory and contributions to our Emerald Society and law enforcement by supporting his memorial scholarship with an annual donation.
