Literacy of Northern NY empowers adults in Jefferson and Lewis Counties by providing free tutoring in reading, math, and English language skills. Our mission is to enhance literacy and foster personal growth through volunteer-led education.

Become a Volunteer Tutor at LNNY - You'll like it!
Join our team at Literacy of Northern New York and become a volunteer tutor. You will help an adult improve reading, math or English language skills. The training is online - You meet on Zoom or in person with our staff for a Pre-session, then complete your chosen module. You then meet again on Zoom for a final Post-session. The training can be done on your schedule. After completion, you are matched with a student and we provide the materials. You meet in public places for tutoring sessions. There is no cost!
