Musiqa

Musiqa champions contemporary music by commissioning new works, supporting artists, and creating interdisciplinary performances. They engage Houston's youth through innovative music education, fostering creativity and cultural vibrancy in the community.

What goes through a musician&#39;s mind in the middle of a performance? What does a composer feel hearing their work brought to life for the first time? And what does the audience experience that the performers never see? UNMUTED invites you into the often invisible layers of music-making. Curated by Musiqa Artist Board member and clarinetist Maiko Sasaki, this intimate chamber concert unfolds in four parts &mdash; each offering a different perspective on the creative process, woven together with live and pre-recorded commentary from the performers themselves.
