La Grange Railroad Museum's Gift Shop

As our museum continues to expand, we are quickly outgrowing our available storage space. This boxcar will not only protect and preserve important pieces of railroad history, but will also become a featured addition to our rolling stock display. Once restored, the boxcar will be painted in historic CSX Transportation colors and feature the emblems of the 19 railroads that merged or were acquired to form CSX Transportation&mdash;creating a moving tribute to the rich legacy of American railroading. Donations to this project will help fund: 1.&nbsp;Acquisition of the boxcar &mdash; $7002.&nbsp;Transportation of the railcar to the museum &mdash; $10,2503.&nbsp;Crane service to place the railcar on the tracks &mdash; $4,9004.&nbsp;Exterior restoration of the refrigerated boxcar &mdash; $8,6005.&nbsp;Final painting and application of the historic CSX logo &mdash; $10,4006.&nbsp;Installation of logos representing the historical timeline of CSX Transportation &mdash; $3,900 This project will greatly enhance the educational value of our railcar displays while providing a much-needed preservation and storage solution for our artifacts.
