The S.A.F.E. Center of Iowa provides a safe, trauma-informed space for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Their mission is to promote healing, justice, and community awareness through compassionate support and advocacy.

Kidnapped at age 15, she escaped and assisted law enforcement in identifying her captor&mdash;an experience that shaped her lifelong commitment to survivor advocacy and public education. Kara later served in law enforcement as a school resource officer, investigator, and victims&rsquo; advocate. She has been speaking professionally since 2009 and has appeared on multiple television programs. Jeremy served more than 19years with the Des Moines Police Department and is currently the Chief of Police in Marion. &nbsp;Jeremy will share about the impact on professionals providing this care and service.
