Southeastern Chapter WSF's Pyrenean Chamois Raffle
Enter the Southeastern Chapter WSF’s Pyrenean Chamois Raffle 🏔️LOCATION: Northeastern Spain. Barcelona would be the ideal arrival/departure airportDATES: 2027. Hunting season in this region runs from the 3rd Sunday of April to July 1st, and then from the 2nd Sunday of September to the 3rd Sunday of December. The raffle winner will firm up hunt dates with Safari Outfitters directly soon after the drawing.ABOUT THE HUNT: The hunt will take place in a private (free range) hunting area in the Huesca province. In the private areas, the most usual trophy sizes are high representatives and bronze medals. The hunter can choose, for the same price, to hunt in a reserve managed by the government where we typically find the biggest and best population of chamois. The permits here are bought at annual auctions, and prices are getting higher every year. However, the areas are really beautiful, and I highly recommend this option to guarantee the best trophy quality. In the government reserve, I can keep the same price for a non-trophy chamois (usually high representative or low bronze), but if the hunter is interested in a trophy chamois (bronze and higher) the extra cost will be $3,000.00 USD. With this option, the hunter will have a very high chance of a gold medal (usually minimum silver medals) but until now we always have gotten gold medals.SAMPLE ITINERARY:Day 1: Arrive in Barcelona and transport to the hotelDays 2-3: Hunt.Day 4: Return to Barcelona (or keep hunting if the hunter wants more animals)Usually, it takes 1 hunting day to get the chamois. If this is the case, the second day we can do some tourism around the area.Shooting distance is usually under 300 meters. We have very nice rifles in case the hunter doesn’t want to bring his rifle (Blaser R8 ultimate 270 wsm with Swarovski Z8i 3.5-28x50 and Sako S20 in 270 w with Swarovski Z6i 2.5-15x56, both with turrets. We will use as accommodation a hotel as good as possible, it will depend on where we will be hunting. For example, if we go to a private area chances are that we will stay in a village name Boltaña, in the Hotel & Spa Monasterio de Boltaña (www.hotelmonasteriodeboltana.com ). If we go to the reserve we will probably stay in the village Jaca, in the hotel Eurostars Reina Felicia (www.eurostarshotels.com/eurostars-reina-felicia.htm)WHAT’S INCLUDED: 1 Pyrenean Chamois (no size limit in the private area, high representative to low bronze in the government reserve), 3 nights, 2 hunting days, full board accommodation with Safari Outfitters to include airport greeting upon arrival and departure, and all applicable area taxes. The 21% VAT is already included so no need to add it on top of the price!WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED: Extra animals (which can be arranged), a trophy class (Bronze and above) chamois in the government reserve, hotels and meals before or after the hunt, Spanish taxidermy prep fees, Spanish exporter shipping of trophies, import fees on the US side, and gratuities for local gamekeepers ($100 per hunting day is customary for a successful hunt). There won’t be any extra cost or charge that is not detailed in this section! This hunt can be combined with any other species in Spain!!!
