The Bridgton Kindness Project

The Bridgton Kindness Project provides emergency support for individuals and families facing homelessness, offering shelter, food, clothing, and essential supplies to help them achieve stability and secure permanent housing.

General Donation Fund The General Donation Fund helps support the everyday operations and ongoing community outreach efforts of The Bridgton Kindness Project. Donations to this fund allow us to respond quickly to urgent needs as they arise, restock our community pantry and fridge, assist local individuals and families facing unexpected hardships, and support the continued growth of our programs and future projects. This flexible fund ensures that we can direct resources where they are needed most, while remaining prepared to respond to unexpected situations and emergencies. Every donation helps us continue our mission of serving the people of Bridgton, one act of kindness at a time.

General Programs Fund

Shaping Minds: Free Youth Enrichment Program The goal of the Shaping Minds Youth Program is to provide free educational and enrichment opportunities for children and families in our community. We want to give local youth something positive, creative, and meaningful to do while providing parents with accessible programs where their children can learn, explore, and grow. By keeping these classes completely free of charge, we can ensure they remain open and accessible to families of all income levels. Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their interests, develop new skills, and experience a well-rounded education. These programs can help create a stable, supportive environment where young people are encouraged to learn, create, build confidence, and flourish. Free Youth Art Classes &mdash; $2,000 annually We will offer free art classes using a variety of mediums, allowing children to experience many different forms of creativity and self-expression. Funding will help provide paint, canvases, drawing materials, craft supplies, and other hands-on materials throughout the year. Estimated annual supply cost: $2,000 Free Youth Music Classes &mdash; $2,000 annually Music classes will introduce children to the joy and benefits of music. Funding will provide instruments and supplies so youth can explore different types of music and discover instruments they may wish to continue pursuing in school and beyond. Estimated annual supply cost: $2,000 Seasonal Baking &amp; Cookie Decorating &mdash; $1,000 annually Four times each year, we will host free themed baking and cookie-decorating events for local youth and families. Cookies will be generously donated, while funding will help cover frosting, toppings, decorations, baking supplies, and other materials. Events may include seasonal themes and special guest decorators. Estimated annual expense: $1,000 Free Youth Pottery Classes &mdash; $1,000 annually Children will have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences with clay. Pottery classes will encourage creativity, patience, problem-solving, and artistic expression while allowing youth to create something of their own. Estimated annual supply cost: $1,000 Total Estimated Annual Program Cost: $6,000 Through Shaping Minds, we hope to remove financial barriers and give every child in our community the opportunity to participate, learn, and discover new passions. By investing in our youth today, we are helping build a stronger, more confident, creative, and well-rounded community for tomorrow.

Community Support, Hospitality &amp; Literacy Programs Free Meeting Space for Support Groups &mdash; $900 We will offer a safe, welcoming space free of charge for local support groups to meet and host gatherings. By removing the cost of renting meeting space, we hope to make it easier for groups to provide connection, encouragement, and support to members of our community. Funding needs:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">30 chairs: $400</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Yearly snack budget: $500</li></ul>Providing comfortable seating and light refreshments will help create a welcoming environment where people can gather, connect, and support one another. Free Coffee, Drink &amp; Snack Station &mdash; $550 Setup + Supplies We will create a free coffee, drink, and snack station for anyone who visits our space and is in need of a little extra support. This station will also be available to our dedicated volunteers. Funding needs:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Initial setup: $150</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Supplies: $100 every three months</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Estimated yearly supply cost: $400</li></ul>A warm cup of coffee, a cold drink, or a quick snack may seem like a small thing, but for someone struggling, it can provide comfort, nourishment, and a reminder that their community cares. Literacy Corner &mdash; $3,000 We plan to create a dedicated Literacy Corner focused on encouraging a love of reading and learning for children and families. This welcoming space will showcase books and literacy resources while providing opportunities for children to participate in author readings, story times, reading classes, and other educational activities.
