Her father and grandfather were both veterinarians before her. Even after losing his home and being struck by shrapnel, her father&rsquo;s first question to doctors was, &ldquo;When can I go back to my sheep?&rdquo; That same determination burns in Olha.While many fled the front lines, Olha stayed &mdash; performing surgeries in devastated towns, rescuing animals from bombed-out streets, and leading our teams to sterilize thousands of stray dogs and cats. She works in a country battling a rising rabies epidemic, where every unvaccinated stray could spread a disease that is nearly always fatal. Each surgery she performs is an act of defiance against chaos &mdash; saving animal lives, protecting communities, and restoring hope.
