Materials List
Workshop: Breaking the Rut
Most Important: Bring your sense of joy in the process of exploration, wonder, and adventure.
Bring any materials you currently work with or (would like to work with). Please be sure to honor the solvent-free studio of Montserrat College.
Also, the following:
A Sketch book of paper of at least 18x24 (90lb in paper weight minimum)
5-10 sheets of 140lb watercolor (full sheets)
Sketch supplies of your choice, but at least include charcoal (vine and willow) varying widths
Your choice of quick drying solvent-free paint mediums (acrylic, tempera, casein etc)
Your choice of paint colors, but be sure to include Black, White and a Brown (pint sizes)
And include red, yellow, blue (a warm & cool of these primaries)
Your choice of painting substrate: primed or unprimed Canvas (loose canvas is great), paper, wood etc.
Painting size is up to you (space allows wall space approximately for 8 foot substrates per student)
Tools
Anything goes! And any sizes
Brushes , Squeegees, kitchen utensils dentist or pottery tools,
Large yogurt containers/plastic water buckets
Box of Nitrile gloves (a must)
To wear:
Apron or old clothes
