On February 19, 1955, TWA Flight 260 departed Albuquerque with 16 people on board en route to Santa Fe, and shortly afterwards crashed into the Sandia Mountains. A rescue operation was immediately launched into the mountains to search for survivors, but sadly all 3 crew members and 13 passengers had perished. With this moment as a launching point, &ldquo;A Beautiful Place&rdquo; is a feature documentary film which explores the emotional journey and stages of navigating tragedies such as this. The premiere will be held in the same location that the passengers and crew of TWA 260 departed from, the old TWA Terminal at the Albuquerque Sunport, preserved much as it was in 1955. Come spend an engaging and reflective evening with some of the family of Flight 260&rsquo;s passengers, as well as the crew of &ldquo;A Beautiful Place&rdquo;. Your registration greatly helps our mission to raise money for the Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council.&nbsp; On February 19, 1955 a TWA plane bound for Santa Fe Crashed in the Sandia Mountains. The following day several members of the New Mexico Mountain Club, along with other volunteers assisted the New Mexico State Police in the recovery effort. From this core group, the Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council was eventually found. The team filled a need for an organized SAR capability in the Albuquerque Area. Formal incorporation of the team as a non-profit organization occurred on February 16, 1959, and the AMRC was elected membership into the MRA on May 13, 1966. All told, the AMRC including its founding group, has been providing SAR services to the community continuously for over 60 years.
