Join us for a beginner-friendly beekeeping workshop at the farm, perfect for anyone curious about starting a hive or just wanting to learn more about working with bees. We&rsquo;ll cover the basics in a simple, hands-on way &mdash; how to prepare for your first hive, where to get bees, what daily care looks like, feeding and watering tips, and how to handle common pests and issues. We&rsquo;ll also go over D.C.&rsquo;s beekeeping rules so you know what&rsquo;s required if you decide to keep bees at home. An experienced beekeeper will answer questions, and we&rsquo;ll do a live hive demo so you can see how everything works up close. Everyone will head home with a list of starter equipment to help you take the next steps if you want to keep going. Thanks to a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, we&#39;re able to offer this workshop at a reduced rate of $5, waivable upon request. This event takes place at Edgewood Community Farm &mdash; just head up the red stairs to the left of the yellow house at 2304 2nd St. NE.
