Through their thoughtful programming, the ensemble hopes to facilitate a connection with wide-ranging repertoire, both familiar and new. The quartet brings together violinists Mateo Garza and Paul Kim, violist Lorenna Garcia, and cellist Griffin Seuter who began playing together during their graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Formed in 2025, Blue Marble is dedicated to presenting music of the highest caliber from all eras. The ensemble and their debut program is so named for one of the first pieces they played together–Osvaldo Golijov’s Tenebrae–which opens with the striking image of the Earth from space.
