Blueberry came to us as an orphan&mdash;small, scared, and facing a tough battle with an eye that was never going to heal.&nbsp; Even after losing her eye in surgery, her incredible spirit showed through. She kept eating, kept growing, and kept holding on with that classic, resilient opossum grit. Without full vision, Blueberry can&rsquo;t be safely released back into the wild; an opossum needs both eyes to gauge distance and dodge roads, predators, and other daily hazards. But Blueberry&rsquo;s story doesn&#39;t end here. She&rsquo;s found a special third path - a new chapter as an Educational Ambassador.&nbsp; Blueberry has been accepted into the education program at the Orange Beach Wildlife Center on the Alabama Gulf Coast! As a licensed ambassador, she will teach children and families who might never otherwise see an opossum up close, helping foster a love and respect for local wildlife. Now, there is just one final hurdle: getting her from North Carolina to Alabama.
