BWEEMS COMMON GROUND DENVER &ndash; Black Futures in Science&nbsp; Location: Denver, ColoradoDate: Monday Dec 7th 2026Time: 9:00 am to 4:30 pmEvent Cost: Free for individuals; suggested contributions for organizations Join Black Women in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Science (BWEEMS) for a Colorado gathering designed to strengthen relationships, expand professional networks, and build community among Black women and gender-expansive people working and studying in environmental and scientific fields.&nbsp; Common Ground: Denver is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with community, and build meaningful relationships with others who understand what it can be like to move through environmental, scientific, academic, conservation, and outdoor spaces while holding identities that have been historically excluded. This event will bring together researchers, educators, nonprofit and government professionals, scientists, students, community leaders, and others connected to ecology, evolution, marine science, conservation and related disciplines. This gathering is centered on community rather than credentials. You do not need to have a particular job title, degree, career path, or level of experience to belong. Anyone interested in building community and are curious about BWEEMS are welcome. Common Ground: Denver is part of BWEEMS&rsquo; broader effort to build stronger regional networks and will create space to meet other professionals and students in Colorado, exchange resources and career opportunities, learn about BWEEMS programs and free membership, and discuss how BWEEMS can better support members in the region. Participants will have opportunities for facilitated networking, informal conversation, and community building.&nbsp; BWEEMS membership is free, and both current and prospective members are warmly invited. We do not want transportation to be a barrier to joining us. Transportation stipends of $20&ndash;$40 are available to help cover the cost of getting to and from the event. Anyone for whom transportation costs would make it difficult or impossible to attend is welcome to request support during registration.&nbsp; We look forward to building a future that centers Black women, femmes and gender expansive leaders in science.&nbsp;
