Join Miss Chittum from Southern Columbia Area School District for a series of fun, hands-on art projects designed especially for middle school students. Each class will introduce students to different artistic techniques, styles, and concepts while giving them plenty of room to express their own creativity. Designed for students in grade 6-8th. September 5 &ndash; One-Point Perspective Name Art Explore the basics of one-point perspective and learn how artists create the illusion of depth and dimension. Students will put their new skills to work by designing personalized name art that appears to pop right off the page! October 3 &ndash; Van Gogh-Inspired GhostsGet into the spooky season with a creative twist on a famous work of art! Participants will create their own ghostly masterpiece inspired by Vincent van Gogh&rsquo;s iconic painting style. Explore swirling brushstrokes, bold colors, and expressive techniques while adding playful ghosts to a starry nighttime scene. October 24 &ndash; X-Ray Hands &amp; Value PumpkinsExplore the art concept of value through two creative fall projects! Participants will learn how artists use light and dark shades to create depth and dimension while creating an X-ray hand drawing and value pumpkins. Experiment with shading and contrast while building drawing skills and creating artwork perfect for the Halloween season.
