Our morning sessions include instruction for beginner projects such as nails, a variety of functional decorative hooks, and other small forged items. Steel will be provided for these beginner projects.

We are a non-profit, volunteer run organization dedicated to promoting the forging arts and making blacksmithing education accessible. You registered for the morning session which includes beginner instruction and enough steel to make a few small projects. Please wear natural materials and closed toed shoes, and bring personal protective gear such as safety glasses, ear protection, and all-leather gloves (especially one for your non-dominant hand). Eye protection is mandatory, and we have safety glasses for use if you don't have your own. We have water for purchase ($1 donation) as well as club shirts and stickers. Everyone will need to sign a liability waiver at the start of the event.(http://columbiafireandiron.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/CFI-Release.pdf). Blacksmiths under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the liability waiver. Blacksmiths under 16 need to have a guardian present, and 13 is the youngest we can allow at the forge.
