Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir

Group Parent Volunteer

The concert takes place at 7:30 PM and is free and open to the public. The singers will be fed dinner by the university before the concert. Group Parents are an incredibly important part of our program. For each off-site rehearsal and concert, Group Parents assist the conductor in organizing and supervising the choir. This includes, among other things, making sure uniforms are tidy, directing singers to the stage, taking singers to the bathroom, and addressing any minor injuries or illnesses. You help ensure that our singers are safe and ready for performance! We ask Group Parents to arrive 15 minutes before the singers’ call times and to remain with the singers until the last person is picked up after the performance. Group Parents conduct check in and check out, accompany the singers through sound check, and sit with the singers (in the audience) during the performance. This is a really fun way to get a “behind-the-scenes” look at how we produce concerts. It’s also a great opportunity to interact with the singers and get to know your child’s friends!
