Join OHMAR&rsquo;s virtual&nbsp;Fall Workshop, &ldquo;Interviewing New Americans,&rdquo; led by Alana Gomez! Immigration is a unique and multifaceted part of American life. Today, recording the stories of those who move to the United States seeking out the American dream is perhaps more important than ever.&nbsp; In this workshop, you will learn about the New Americans Oral History Project at the State Archives of North Carolina. She earned her bachelor&rsquo;s degree in history and English from the University of Florida where she first engaged with oral history, educational resources, and public programming. She recently just moved back to Florida after living in Raleigh, NC, for four years, where she earned a master&#39;s degree in public history and worked for the State Archives of NC&rsquo;s America 250 NC initiative.&nbsp; She has worked in various curation, programming, and education roles at university and community institutions.
