The cost is $25/person (or $15/person for college students; ID required at the door). These are in-person workshops; no remote options are available. HARP:  "Highland Harpbeat - Scottish harp tunes"  Rachel Hair is one of Scotland's most skilled traditional harp players and is passionate about sharing Scottish music and the culture and stories that surround it with others. From Highland airs to Gaelic strathspeys, wistful waltzes to joyful jigs, she has a skill for choosing tunes that are super satisfying to learn, fit the harp wonderfully and will be a great addition to your repertoire. Rachel teaches by ear, describing the phrases as she goes and will have sheet music for all the arrangements she teaches. FIDDLE:  "Scottish Strathspey Fiddle Workshop" Originally from Findochty in the North East of Scotland, Ron Jappy is a highly sought after fiddle player and guitar accompanist. (He was a finalist in several of the UK’s most prestigious fiddle invitational competitions, including the Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship and the Highlands and Islands fiddle Masters.) Schooled in the fiddle tradition of the greats such as James Scott Skinner and William Marshall, Ron will deliver a fiddle workshop on the most iconic of Scottish dance tunes, the Strathspey. You’ll learn about the stories and history of the tunes as well as a detailed look at bowing, phrasing and specific techniques. Sheet music will be available for participants to take home after the workshop.
