Wildfire risk can be a confusing and emotional topic in garden design, especially if you have cherished trees, shrubs and vines close to your house. &nbsp;If the thought of removing plants around your home is distressing you, come find your way back to joy in creating your fire safe garden. &nbsp;In this class you will learn how to reimagine your garden and landscape while incorporating new CAL FIRE regulations for &quot;Zone Zero&quot; around your home. Gain insight to how plants and trees affect wildfire behavior, and get guidance on how to arrange plantings, hardscape, fencing, and other non-combustible design elements so you can create a beautiful and functional garden that helps reduce your wildfire risk and makes your home harder to ignite, and more affordably insurable. Master Gardener Patty Ciesla is the Executive Director of the Diablo Firesafe Council and a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist with the National Fire Protection Association This class will be held at Mountain Feed and Farm Supply in Ben Lomond in the outdoor garden classroom. Dress for a mostly-seated class with some hands-on bench-top activities.
