Each paddle is a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and learn the multifaceted history of the Delaware River and Philadelphia.&nbsp; These paddles are beginner friendly, covering 2-3 miles each paddle. No swimming or kayaking experience is needed; we&rsquo;ll provide basic guidance, safety, and all necessary gear for your trip. You must be 12+ years old to kayak with us. We look forward to getting out on the Delaware River with you! The on-water portion of these paddles will last approximately 1-1.5 hours, launching near Race St Pier and covering 2-3 miles of the River before returning to the launch.&nbsp; Where to Go &amp; What to Expect:All paddlers will meet at <a fr-original-style="" href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/jz1bZ6YE2Ys6afWt5" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Cherry St Pier</a> to complete checkin, sign waivers, and be fitted for their life jackets. You will be reimbursed for your ticket fee upon arrival. &nbsp;Be sure to arrive by 4:30pm.&nbsp; Paddlers will be provided with a kayak, paddle, life vest, and waterproof phone case for use during the paddle. Riverways staff will provide basic paddling instruction for all participants prior to getting on the water, and our safety team will review the paddle plan and conditions before guiding paddlers on the River. If you are bringing your own equipment, please remember that ALL PADDLERS are required to wear a life vest. You will not be permitted to paddle without one.&nbsp; There is a bathroom and water refill station available at Cherry St Pier.&nbsp; What to Bring:It is recommended that paddlers wear waterproof/-resistant closed-toed shoes and dress accordingly for the weather. Crocs (in sport mode) are fine. You may want to bring a spare set of clothes or a towel. Paddlers should also bring:&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;-hats/sunscreen/sunglasses&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;-water/snacks&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;-any required medications for your health (i.e. allergy meds, epipen, etc.) You will receive an email the day prior to the paddle with any updates or changes to the event as it relates to weather conditions, safety, or destination information.&nbsp;If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so another community member can enjoy this experience!
