The workshop, led by Brianne Cellemee-Short, will teach the method of turning infused carrier oils into salves. Participants will assist in making an multi-purpose skincare salve, however they will leave with the knowledge of how to adapt the recipe to create other types of healing salves. Participants will receive a copy of the recipe made that day, as well as a sample of the salve they assisted in making.
Discover how to preserve the vibrant flavors of the season through simple herb storage techniques, infused oils, and compound butters. We'll explore the differences between fresh and dried herbs, learn how to maximize their flavor and potency, and create kitchen staples that bring depth, aroma, and brightness to everyday meals.
Seeing Seeds, led by Amber Santibañez, is not only a seed-saving workshop, but a practice of attention; one that treats images, stories, and learning tools as nourishment. Participants will be creating seed mandalas to increase visual literacy and learn about the characteristics of a variety of seeds.
Rooted Remedies invites participants to explore the spiritual, ancestral, and community-centered relationships between people and plants. Through storytelling, discussion, and hands-on learning, we’ll reflect on how herbs have long been used across African diasporic, Indigenous, and other ancestral traditions for grounding, protection, healing, ritual, and emotional wellness. Participants will leave with a deeper connection to plant wisdom, cultural remembrance, and the role of gardening as a practice of care, spirituality, and collective healing.
