Join the Puget Sound Chapter of the American Cetacean Society in Room 6 (Blue Building) of the Phinney Neighborhood Center for our November chapter meeting. Our guest speaker this month will be ACS-PS board member&nbsp;Jennifer Godfrey, who will present her talk entitled:&nbsp; Is Seattle An Enviro City? Reflections from the Orca Appeal Hear how citizen requests for Seattle to follow NOAA&#39;s SRKW Recovery Plan ended up becoming the&nbsp;Orca Appeal. Explore topics like how Seattle - the Nation&#39;s poster child for 6PPD - left endangered orcas and more out of their citywide Environmental Impact Statement, discrepancies between Seattle&#39;s EIS and NOAA&#39;s Salmon and SRKW Recovery Plans, how clear cutting the city could impact aquatic life, and more. The Emerald City is the largest city by land and population in the state, situated in the Pacific Temperate Rainforests. Status of the litigation and next steps will be shared. Jennifer Godfrey has had a lifelong fascination with biology and endangered species. Choosing to pursue music in college knowing connective tissues would likely not outlast the brain, she is a tenured musician in the Seattle Symphony and Opera, and staunch believer in transparency, accountability, and the Hippocratic Oath. Doors open at 7pm, socializing with guests at 7:15pm, and talk starts at 7:30pm
