If you have a passion for getting more kids on bikes and want to build strong minds, bodies and communities through cycling, join us for our inaugural Leaders Summit. The Summit is for anyone who wants to lead or be involved with starting and managing a NICA youth mountain biking club/team in Illinois . For coaches who seek Level 3 status in 2026, attendance at a Leaders Summit is mandatory. SCHEDULE OUTLINE:&nbsp;Saturday: Indoor learning with sessions and workshops for NICA coaches. Topics include: Working with NICA athletes, Coaching and managing a NICA team, Risk management in the NICA context, Understanding the NICA handbook/promoting positive behaviors, Coach philosophy and goal setting. We&rsquo;ll finish the day with a group ride! Sunday: All things on the bike. NICA-certified On-the-Bike skills instructors will lead coaches through the On-the-Bike 101 skills clinic. The goal of the clinic is to provide you with the knowledge skills and abilities to teach foundational/fundamental mountain bike skill to your athletes. We&rsquo;ll finish the day with a NICA games workshop where a NICA instructor will lead coaches through a progression of on and off the bike games that support team development and mountain bike skill development. You&rsquo;ll have so much fun. We will also offer a group ride for those who can stick around.&nbsp; OTB 101 is required for NICA coach license Level 2 and Level 3.&nbsp; Please dress appropriately for the weather. This is an outdoor skills instructional course and not a &quot;ride&quot;, you will be standing as a group for instruction and riding for the skills portion. On-the-Bike Skills 101 - This course will be completed in 2 phases: 1.&nbsp;Online via NICA Education (45min) Please complete the online &quot;OTB 101 Classroom&quot; course accessed through Pit Zone &quot;Access Coach Courses&quot; prior to taking this in-person training.
