ABOUT CASA CARACOL: For more than ten years, Palabras Bilingual Bookstore has served as a cultural refuge in Phoenix, one of the few spaces intentionally centered on BIPOC local communities. Through free workshops, bilingual programming, a mutual aid garden, and other community offerings, Palabras has created space for creativity, connection, and belonging. Last year, as Palabras entered its tenth year, our work expanded into Casa Caracol, a nonprofit, community-centered arts hub that now houses and supports Palabras alongside broader cultural and community programming. This transition helps ensure that families priced out of traditional institutions, youth looking for representation, artists seeking visibility, and others facing barriers to creative and cultural resources can continue to find them here.
