View the Michigan debut of &quot;No Exception to the Promise&quot; by voter access advocate &nbsp;Marcus Kelley.&nbsp;No Exception To The Promise is a powerful short film inspired by<a fr-original-style="" href="https://riverwisedetroit.org/article/there-should-be-no-exception-to-the-promise/" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">&nbsp;an Op-Ed</a> written by Marcus M. Kelley, designed to educate Michigan citizens on a truth too often hidden: slavery was never fully abolished. This event is hosted by the Detroit Justice Center and The Change Up Midnight Coalition 🌙 The Detroit Justice Center is a nonprofit law firm working alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities. In 2025, DJC nominated Marcus to become a Represent Justice ambassador to produce his film.&nbsp; The Change Up: Midnight Coalition create safer spaces for young people to be heard, learn from one another, and explore social justice in everyday life.
