Payne Hollow on the Ohio is excited to be hosting open walks on the third Sunday of each month, beginning in April. Visitors are invited to explore the landscape that Harlan and Anna Hubbard called home and learn more about their remarkable life along the Ohio River.&nbsp; REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, and there are limited spots available each date, to avoid overcrowding. Parking is available at 125 Hubbard Lane&nbsp;in Milton, Kentucky, where guests will be welcomed and oriented by docents before the walk down to Payne Hollow.&nbsp; The walk to Payne Hollow includes the historic Hubbard homestead as well as a glimpse of the 110 acres of forest, fields, and river landscape that shaped Harlan Hubbard&#39;s art, writing, and philosophy. By walking these trails, visitors can experience the place where Harlan and Anna created a life deeply connected to the land and to the Ohio River. Enjoy the beauty and wild character of Payne Hollow that has inspired countless visitors for generations. Here are some helpful tips for walking Payne Hollow&#39;s trails:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The trail to Payne Hollow is close to a mile long and contains a 500 foot elevation change. There are benches along the trail for those who need a rest from the steep, rocky trail. Some visitors find trekking poles or walking sticks helpful on the trail.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Visitors are encouraged to wear sturdy hiking shoes, long pants, and bug spray. We also recommend bringing your own supply of drinking water and snacks.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">There are bathroom facilities at the orientation site, 361 Rodgers Road, but there are no bathroom facilities in the Hollow.
