Are you a collector of old t-shirts in want of a new up-cycle? Join us in an evening of snipping and stitching. This workshop aims to gather folks who enjoy upcycling and sustainability as it relates to art making and learn/practice the art of turning old-shirts into yarn. Participants will be guided in yarn making and shown 3 possible creations for various skill levels.&nbsp; The workshop is guided by Catie Kobland, recent graduate from Syracuse Universities art therapy masters program. A life long maker, Catie aims to create and foster opportunities for connection through creativity. She believes creativity is all around us, in the ways we dress, the spaces we adorn, the stories we tell about ourselves - and when we share this creation process we allow ourselves to be seen in our authenticity.&nbsp; Ticket includes all necessary materials for one ball of yarn and yarn ball creation. You are encouraged to bring a t-shirt (or more!) for upcycling, however t-shirts will be provided to participants as needed.&nbsp; Options for t-shirt yarn creations&nbsp; - Braided rug/potholder&nbsp;- Crocheted rug/potholder&nbsp;- Crochet basket&nbsp; *potholders require 1 yarn ball - baskets require 1-2 yarn balls - rugs require 5-10 yarn balls&nbsp; (NOTE: Creations are not limited to the provided tutorials.
