TCOC | Firearms Training 5 - Boise, ID

When: May 2 - 3, 2026

Where: Boise, ID

Time: 8am - 12pm on both Saturday and Sunday

______________

We held our 4th firearms training in October and due to popular demand, we are doing it again in the spring. This will be led by former US Army Ranger Nate Castillo of Valiance Training, a Christian-based firearms training company. It will be a 2-day training event. All experience levels are welcome, from someone who has never held a firearm before, to someone who is proficient, this event is for you. You will learn something new, guaranteed.

Day 1 will be more handgun centered, while Day 2 will be a mix of handgun and then will transition to AR15 training.

STEP 1

Go through the registration process. Each person attending will need to fill out their own separate registration and payment even if using the same payment method.

Note: When you get to the part where you are entering your payment info and you see the option to contribute to Zeffy, feel free to click on "Other", and then write "0". This is a voluntary contribution to support the free platform we're using.

Attendee Ticket- $275 (includes training fee for Saturday and Sunday, does NOT include ammo)

**SPECIAL OFFER**

For the first 10 paid registrants only, we will be giving you 200 rounds of 9mm ammo to use for the weekend, thanks to a sponsorship by Cerakote, a company who believes in what we are doing. Thank you to TCOC member David Meador for facilitating it!

We do not have anything planned for the group in terms of activities during the times we aren’t training. This can be discussed in the group chat.

MORE INFO

TRAINING LOCATION

The training will be held at the Valiance Training private range in the Boise foothills (near Dry Creek Ranch). The exact location will be given the day before to registrants.

FIREARMS

If you do not own a firearm, there will be some for you to use. We will be training with 9mm handguns. You are free to bring your own firearm/s as well, but you will be responsible for bringing your own ammo if it’s anything other than 9mm.

AMMUNITION

This will require a minimum amount of 300 rounds of 9mm ammunition for both days. We will have ammo for purchase (~$15 per box of 50 rounds). You're free to bring your own ammo as well. The more you bring/buy, the merrier!

We will also be shooting AR15s, which take a different type of ammunition. Boxes of that will also be available for purchase if you want to shoot that (~$15 per box of 20 rounds).

FAQs

What do I bring?

The only items that you will be responsible to bring will be eye protection (safety glasses/sunglasses will suffice) and ear protection (electronic earmuffs are highly recommended). I HIGHLY SUGGEST these: https://a.co/d/iRM2JXV

What do I wear?

Wear closed toed shoes. A hat is also a recommendation. The weather in May is a little chilly in the mornings and low 70s during the day. Please dress and prepare accordingly.

What if I've never held a gun before, is this training for me?

Yes, it is. We've had several people who have never held or shot a gun before and they all left the event feeling a lot more comfortable and confident with handling and shooting one.

What if I'm already proficient and knowledgeable with guns?

We will have something for all skill levels. We can divide the group up once we get a baseline of everyone's skill level and then do different training based on that.
