Join the Terrell Heritage Museum on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM for a special evening exploring the remarkable intersection of art, history, nature, and discovery with guest speaker J. Gilbert Johnston, Jr. Founder and owner of Antique Nature Prints, Johnston has spent years studying and collecting original natural history works, including original Audubon prints and works by notable artists of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. His collection and expertise bring to life an extraordinary period when artists, scientists, explorers, engravers, and naturalists worked together to document the natural world. During this engaging presentation, Johnston will share the fascinating history behind 18th- and 19th-century nature prints, the colorful individuals who created them, and the artistic processes—including engraving, lithography, aquatinting, and hand-coloring—that transformed scientific observation into works of art.
