2026 Urban Treks Challenge

Welcome to the 2026 Urban Treks Challenge, presented by the Black Rock Riverside Alliance with the support of Outside Chronicles! Now in its fourth year, this challenge is about getting out to explore the urban landscape and discovering secrets about Buffalo you never knew before. The goal of this challenge is about seeing where the city integrates with nature and where the people integrate with both city AND the natural world. The theme of this year's challenge is Amazing Architecture. We've prepared twelve treks that emphasize historic and otherwise architecturally-important neighborhoods in the city. We hope that this year's trek will leave you feeling more connected to Buffalo, whether you call the city home or you're a visitor from out of town. When you sign up for the challenge, you will receive an email with a link to where you can download your challenge packet. This will include your Eventzee registration codes and how you can access the digital maps for this year's challenges.
