Abbe-Freeland Animal Sanctuary, founded in 1989, is an all-volunteer wildlife rehabilitation center in Angelica, NY. They provide a second chance to injured and orphaned wildlife, with a focus on beavers. While aiming to release animals back into the wild, they also offer permanent homes to those unable to survive independently, providing specialized care and enrichment. The sanctuary also cares for special needs domestic animals.
Mission
Abbe-Freeland Animal Sanctuary is a wildlife rehabilitation center that takes in injured and orphaned native species such as beavers, porcupines, and squirrels, with the goal of releasing them back into the wild whenever possible. Animals that cannot survive on their own are cared for at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
