Established in 1962, the Actors' Equity Foundation supports the professional theatre community. It provides grants to nonprofit theaters, arts organizations, and programs, including those focused on AIDS/healthcare, diversity, and career transition. The Foundation also presents eight awards annually recognizing talent in the industry, all stemming from a generous donation to the Actors' Equity Association.
