The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), est. 1888, champions amateur sports, setting standards and promoting “Sports For All, Forever.” Initially a leader in international sports and the Olympics, the AAU shifted focus to grassroots programs in the 1970s. Its mission: to develop athletes physically, mentally, and morally, fostering sportsmanship and citizenship through volunteer-run programs.
