American Friends of Asian Rural Institute (AFARI), founded in 1982, supports the Asian Rural Institute (ARI). ARI empowers leaders to build environmentally healthy, just, and peaceful communities worldwide. AFARI provides direct support to ARI and builds the capacity of ARI graduates through programs like the Tarr Fellowship, Rural Leaders Network, and Cultural Exchange.
