The American Legion, chartered by Congress in 1919, is a patriotic veterans organization. Focused on service to veterans, servicemembers, and communities, it has influenced social change, won veteran benefits, and created youth programs. The Hampton Bays post was founded in 1946 and supports local veterans and the community.
