About
The American Postal Workers Union (APWU), founded in 1971, represents over 200,000 USPS employees, retirees, and private-sector mail workers. It advocates for dignity, respect, fair pay, benefits, and safe working conditions. As an AFL-CIO affiliate, APWU fights for social and economic justice for all working families. The APWU resulted from the merger of five postal unions.
Mission
Through collective bargaining and mobilization, the APWU fights for dignity and respect for postal workers, decent pay and benefits, safe working places, the right to public postal services, and solidarity with all workers.
