The American Southdown Breeders' Association, est. 1997, promotes and preserves the Southdown breed, one of the world's oldest sheep breeds. Originating in Sussex, England, Southdowns are known for their meat quality and efficiency. The ASBA supports breeders through registration, shows, sales, and youth programs, ensuring the breed's continued success and popularity as a terminal sire and favorite among youth.
Mission
The American Southdown Breeders' Association collects, verifies, preserves, and publishes information on the history, management, and pedigrees of purebred Southdown sheep. They aim to maintain the integrity and promote the breed under conditions approved by the Association.
