About
The Amherst Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1946 by Dr. Joseph Wincenc, became a non-profit in 1950. It provides free concerts to the public and was initially supported by the Eggertsville-Snyder Rotary Club. Wincenc conducted for 50 years, followed by Steven Thomas.
Mission
The Amherst Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer group of musicians bringing free, classical music concerts to the residents of Town of Amherst, Erie County, and all of Western New York.
