The Anna Freud Foundation, established in 1953, promotes psychoanalytic theory and practice, especially those stimulated by Anna Freud's work. The Foundation provides grants to align with this mission. Anna Freud (1895–1982) was a pioneer in child psychoanalysis, expanding her father’s theories through observation and treatment. She founded the Hampstead War Nursery in London during WWII. The New York foundation continues her legacy through grantmaking focused on child mental health.
