The Brooklyn & Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (BLIACS), founded in 1930 (chartered as #1) and tax-exempt since 2005, is a surgical community organization. It offers annual clinic & congress events and the Friedman award dinner/essay contest. BLIACS aims to advance surgical knowledge and practice in the Brooklyn and Long Island area.
