Brothers and Sisters Emerging (BASE), est. 2009 in Pittsburgh, evolved from Garfield Youth Sports (est. 1994) to serve youth and families year-round. Starting as a football and cheerleading program, BASE now offers after-school, summer camp, mentoring, advocacy, social supports, and empowerment programs. Their mission is to strategically advocate and connect youth and families to life-sustaining resources, building positive relationships through various activities.
