About
Founded in 1996, Brown Public Library in Northfield, VT enriches the community by providing access to information, resources, and programs for all ages. Originally housed in the railroad depot, the library moved to the Paine Block, then to a private residence after a fire. George Washington Brown, a Northfield native, built the current library in 1906 in memory of his family, dedicating it to the advancement of knowledge. Today, the library offers a wide range of services including youth programs, teen services, and online resources.
Mission
Brown Public Library provides access to books and other resources in support of education, recreation, and culture. They create and support programs that encourage reading, life-long learning, and access to technical communications.
