About
The Burrillville Land Trust, founded in 1999, is dedicated to preserving Burrillville's rural character. This volunteer-based nonprofit protects open space, farms, woodlands, meadows, ponds, and rivers through land donations, purchases, and conservation easements. They offer public programs, workshops, and hiking trails, promoting environmental education and passive recreation. The BLT also supports local food production through the Burrillville Farmers’ Market and works to conserve scenic vistas and wildlife habitats.
Mission
The Burrillville Land Trust maintains the town’s rural character by preserving open space, protecting farms, and preserving the woodlands, meadows, ponds and rivers. They provide programs and workshops to educate the public about land protection as an investment for future generations.
