About
Calliope Feminist Choir, est. 1993, is a southeast Ohio community of women, trans, and non-binary singers. Rooted in feminist values, they share music for joy, connection, and to inspire action. They strive for musical excellence, choosing music that challenges and entertains, promoting social justice, anti-racism, and environmental responsibility. Calliope fosters equity by offering free childcare, a sliding scale for dues/tickets, ASL-interpreted concerts, and accessible spaces.
Mission
Calliope Feminist Choir unites diverse singers to share music, inspire action, and foster connection. Rooted in feminist values, the choir supports social justice, amplifies oppressed voices, and practices right relationship with the earth through performances and community engagement.
